Jessica Smarr, MPH

Trainer | Curriculum Writer

Jessica Smarr begun her career as a sexuality educator with a bang (no pun intended)! She completed her Master of Public Health with Texas A&M in 2016, where she focused primarily on pathways to improving sexual health in high risk populations. While completing her graduate course work, Jessica provided sexual health information to Texas A&M students through the university’s Peer Health Educator program.

Jessica has been an integral part of the UN|HUSHED team ever since. She co-authored UN|HUSHED's innovative, comprehensive sexuality education curriculum UN|HUSHED: The Middle School Curriculum with Executive Director Dr. Karen Rayne, has taught over 300 hours of comprehensive sexuality classes through the organization to students 4th-12th grade, and has helped to create multiple handouts including "For fact's sake!" An infographic about the proper way to utilize a condom (which members can download for free!). Jessica is currently working on UN|HUSHED: The Elementary School Curriculum with Shadeen Francis, and has become a crucial voice in everything that UN|HUSHED does. When Jessica isn't hard at work writting or teaching she spends her spare time with her partner, their dog, and watching Netflix while crocheting vulvas to be used as educational tools.
